For 2010, my wife and I have started a number of projects around the home. One thing we wanted to do was improve the guest bedroom, which had began lagging behind the rest of the home in its decoration and design, ostensibly due to the fact that we rarely have guests! (Or is it the other way around?) Either way, it was time to start looking at the room and decided what we wanted to change.
As we stood there discussing new furniture, a glass coffee table, and mounting the extra plasma TV to the wall, we realized how incredibly small the closet space was in the guest room. It was hardly a closet fit for a guest who had more than a few things – not to mention, we had put some of our wardrobe in this closet, and it was taking up what little space was their in the first place.
Realizing that this would be embarrassing if a guest were to arrive and not even have room for their clothes, we then knew this would be the first problem to fix: get an extra closet. Or somehow make the room have more closet space.
What it came down to was either one of those nifty portable closet or a wooden wardrobe closet. This meant either a light weight closet that we could place in any room of the house – perfect for a guest room, but also something we could get use out of elsewhere as needed. Or it meant a solid, heavy weight piece of furniture, like a antique wooden wardrobe closet.
In the end, we went for the portable closet. It was easier to have something light weight since the guest room was on the third floor. Plus, we have to admit, we wanted something we could use elsewhere in the house, such as a laundry room assistant, which is where the portable closet sits right now.
If you’ve got a need for more closet storage, something akin to one of these products will do the trick, and you don’t have to remodel anything!
